75 Hour Salesperson Course

Description:
If you want to become a real estate salesperson, you must take a seventy-five hour qualifying course as a prerequisite for the State Licensing Examination. This introductory course will arm you with the fundamental knowledge you will need to take both the school and state exams. After completing the course and passing the exam, you will be qualified to work under the sponsorship of a licensed broker in New York State.

Description:
If you wish to become a real estate broker, this required course will provide you with in-depth study of taxes, management, appraisal, valuation, leases,interest rates, sources of funds, secondary mortgage markets and mortgage banking. You will also become familiar with specialized areas of real estate: sub-divisions, developments, condominiums, public housing, urban renewal and rehabilitation projects. A discussion of zoning and appraisal of urban real estate will complete the program.

This required course is taught on a “learn by doing” basis, whereby students work through a series of illustrative problems. Topics will include: types of commercial properties, types of commercial customers, net operating income, vacancy, credit losses, highest and best use, land leases, build to suit, APOD, forecasting cash flows, fair market value, leases, zoning, and marketing. Students should bring a basic calculator to class.
