A native Long Islander, he attended St. Anthony's High School and Adelphi University where he received a BBA in 1968 majoring in Law and Finance, receiving a full scholarship. He received his Masters in Finance from Adelphi University in 1970.
Mr. Gutleber was associated with his family's Real Estate Firm, Corwin Gutleber Agency, where he managed the Suffolk County office. In 1972, he joined Marine Midland Bank as a Management Trainee. His career progressed at Marine until he was in charge of Real Estate Lending in New York State, New Jersey as well as lending to international clients.
Mr. Gutleber left Marine Midland in 1988 to become the President of Castagna Realty Company, Inc. a Real Estate Development and Management firm. Mr. Gutleber was given the additional title of Chief Executive Officer at year end 1999.
Mr. Gutleber is on the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation, the Real Estate Institute at Long Island University and the Abilities, Inc. of the National Center for Disability Services. He is a member of the Long Island Business Development Council, Urban Land Institute, American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and currently the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation External Marketing Council. Mr. Gutleber is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of New York and has been awarded the Brotherhood Award by the National Conference of Christians and Jews. |
