ABOUT THE REAL ESTATE PRACTITIONER'S INSTITUTE

Jack O'Connor

Jack O'Connor joined Newmark Knight Frank to serve as Director of the National Industrial Practice Group and as a principal in the firm's Long Island Office.

Mr. O'Connor is a commercial and industrial brokerage veteran with more than 35 years experience, having held executive positions with a number of national commercial brokerage companies. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. O'Connor served as Senior Managing Director at CBRE's Long Island Office. He has also worked at Grubb and Ellis, as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Long Island Office and owned his own firm called Island Realty, based in Melville.

In 2002, Mr. O'Connor was awarded the "Broker of the Year" Award by the Association for a Better Long Island and the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society for his part in the disposition of Enterprise Park at Calverton's 492-acre industrial core, which included more than 800,000 square feet of commercial space in 18 buildings. He was also named as a "Long Island Power Broker" by CoStar in 2004.

His professional affiliations include: Dowling College Trustee; Advancement for Commerce Industry & Technology Board of Directors; StonyBrook Community Fund; Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island Advisory Board; Long Island Association Real Estate Committee; Real Estate Board of New York; member of the Hauppauge Industrial Association; and Board Member of the Real Estate Practitioners Institute.

Mr. O'Connor earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. John's University School of Business.
