ABOUT THE REAL ESTATE PRACTITIONER'S INSTITUTE

Peter Owens


Peter Owens is a licensed commercial and residential real estate broker with a family owned and operated company, Owens Brokerage LTD, located in Mineola. The twenty-five year old business also manages commercial properties, primarily in New York State.

Previously, Mr. Owens was in the oil business for thirty year as a Vice President in Operations and also owned thirteen Long Island gas stations.

He is an active community participant ever since having served in the County Seat Kiwanis in Mineola for twenty years. He is on the Board of Directors of the Kiwanis International Foundation and is a Distinguished Past Lieutenant Governor of the Long Island North Division of the New York State Kiwanis. In 2005, Peter was appointed the Executive Assistant to the Governor of the New York State Kiwanis. He is also a Board Member of the Real Estate Practitioners Institute of C.W. Post Campus; a member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island; and a member of the Mineola Chamber of Commerce.

In 1959, Peter graduated from St. Francis College in Brooklyn after having served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-54. Peter has resided in East Williston for forty years with his wife and six children and six grandchildren.
