Upon being discharged from the Army, I entered the financial investment field. Positions
included being a portfolio manager at the Chase Manhattan Trust Investment Department,
Assistant to Mr. T. Rowe Price in Baltimore, Financial Analyst, US Securities and
Exchange Commission, Security Analyst/portfolio manager Lazard Freres, Investment
Counselor at Lionel D.Edie & Co (at that time the company was the investment
counseling arm of Merrill Lynch).
I became an independent commercial/industrial mortgage broker in 1977. In addition to
Conventional financing, areas of expertise include SBA, JDA, IDA mortgages. Mortgage
sizes have ranged from $250,000 to $25 million. Lenders range from banks, insurance
companies, credit companies, private individuals etc.
Geographical areas are mainly on the East Coast with emphasis on Long Island.
Clients have ranged from companies such as Quality King [$12.3 million mortgage],
Caldor [$9 million mortgage - first one to be financed in the United States was located in
Freeport, NY ] $3 million construction/permanent mortgage for a medical office building
in Rockville Centre, $8 million for two adult homes, $360,000 first mortgage for the
Latin American Pentecostal Church of God, Uniondale, NY The list goes on.
