Edward S. Smith, Jr., is the Regional Director and Corporate Commercial Trainer for Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT operations on Long Island, New York. He is a NYS licensed Real Estate Broker, specializing in Commercial and Investment Real Estate, with over 35 years of brokerage experience. He previously ran Smith & DeGroat, Inc. Real Estate and then served as a “Consultant to the Trade”.

Mr. Smith is an Instructors Training Institute (ITI) graduate and has ten years experience teaching commercial real estate courses. He has authored four 7.5-hour continuing education courses: Commercial & Investment Real Estate: Concepts and Terms; Commercial Real Estate; Tools of the Trade; All About Leases; Real Estate Formulas and Calculations. He has also written three textbooks: Commercial Real Estate: Listing Properties; Commercial Real Estate: Understanding Investments: Commercial Real Estate: Smart Marketing Practices.

He is Past President of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors®, Past President of the Metro-Long Island Chapter of NYSCAR; Past President of the Long Island Commercial Network (LICN); and has served as a Director of the Long Island Board of Realtors®. He is also a former Officer and Director of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS).

Currently, a Director of the New York State Association of Realtors®, he also serves on many of their committees including: Chairman of the Commercial Issues Committee; Legislative Steering; Education Management and previously served as Statewide RPAC Chairman. He serves on the Boards of NYSCAR and LICN and he is a Director of the Real Estate Practitioners Institute at Long Island University.
